Charminar

Charminar, meaning four pillars the eponymous towers are ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches is built in 1591 in remembrance of plague.  The fifth ruler of Qutab Dynasty, Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah had prayed for the end of the plague that was ravaging his city and vowed to build a Mosque at the very place where he prayed. Walking along the chaotic and congested streets of Hyderabad, alluring Islamic edifice would be in front of you. Walking through the entrance and getting on the first floor is a nostalgia. Flight of stairs through minars is quite interesting and after climbing 149 steps, you reach the first floor. They have the antique clocks, and you wouldn’t notice them as long as you are enjoying the carvings and moldings inside the monuments. The roof of Charminar is a mosque which is not open for visiting. Standing on the first floor, you can see the mecca masjids’ tomb. This place is completely surrounded by shops. If you want an Emporio Armani or Tumi you get them for nothing.

After enjoying the view from Charminar, next destination would be Mecca Masjid which is considered to be one of the largest mosques. Built in 1617 century, it has the capacity of 20,000 people. Along with that, the tombs of mecca provide shelter to many pigeons. Though everyone is allowed to visit the mosque, only their people (Muslims) will be allowed inside to conduct prayers.

This is the place where everyone is welcomed with a clap. When you first enter, clapping is the first sound you would hear. Clap at the entrance reverberates and can be heard clearly at the ‘Bala Hisar’, the highest point almost a kilometer away. This is to warn the kings in case of an attack. Built by Kakatiyas in 1371, this was used for defense purpose, but when Qutab dynasty overtook it, then it was used as palace because of its exotic location and view. Reaching the top of the fort is a challenging task but if you reach there.

The museum building, semicircular in shape with 38 galleries, spread on two floors, displays only a part of the original collection. The ground floor has 20 galleries and the first floor has 18 galleries. The exhibits on different subjects are displayed in separate galleries. One of the curious instruments in this museum is Musical clock. Along with that, Veiled Rebecca, wooden double statue and ivory craving collections are some of the famous things too look at. But if you wanna see it completely, it would take you around 3 days.

you want to see the Bahubali film sets, this is the place to visit. Spread over 2000acres, it has been certified by the Guinness book of records as the largest studio complex in the world. It has restaurants, play area for children. You start with Eureka, where you find shopping, restaurants. First visiting place is Bhagavatam hall which has a mythological set which is considered as a famous tourist attraction. The cowboy street is built on the theme of wild west and it has wild west stunt show, which will leave you in awe. Movie magic area is the place where you will be feeling the real magic of the movie where one of the volunteers would be asked to act and later the movie will be displayed too. The complete making of the movie is done in front of you and that will mesmerize you. If you want to walk through European countries, princess street is the lane to walk in. The other places here are Mughal garden, the highest peak, the park to visit.

The lake of Hyderabad which contains the Buddha statue. Here people go to the center of the lake to visit the statue. Peddle boats and motor boats are widely used and the fun part is you get to ride the motor boats to the center of the lake.  The elegant statue of Buddha and island is to be visited for sure.
