Tulip Festival, Kashmir (1 – 15 April)
Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip garden is the largest tulip garden in Asia. It is situated on the foothills of Zabarwan Range with an overview of Dal Lake. Tulip festival is an annual celebration that aims to showcase the range of flowers in the garden as a part of tourism efforts by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. It is organized during the onset of spring season in Kashmir valley. Apart from tulips, many other species of flowers like hyacinths, daffodils and ranunculus have been added as well.
Baisakhi, Punjab (14 April)
Baisakhi is a historical and religious festival in Sikhism. It is celebrated on 14 April every year. Baisakhi marks the Punjabi new year and it is a spring harvest season of Rabi Crops for the Sikhs. Baisakhi is celebrated by different names across India. They are Rongali Bihu in Assam, Naba Barsha in Bengal, Puthandu in Tamil Nadu, Pooram Vishu in Kerala and Vaishakha in Biha.
Bihu, Assam (15 April)
Bihu is the name for the National Festival of Assam. It is celebrated as a New Year as per the Assamese calendar with the beginning of the harvest season, which is also known as Bohag Bihu.The occupation of the people here is agriculture and the entire society is agrarian in nature. Bihu is basically a celebration of the change of the seasons. Each of the three Bihu celebrations marks an important phase in the farming calendar of Assam.
Shad Suk Mynsiem, Meghalaya (10 – 11 April)

Shad Suk Mynsiem is a important festival of the Khasi clans of Meghalaya that falls in the month of April every year. Aside from different places in Meghalaya, the festival happens fundamentally in the Khasi Hills that is arranged close Shilong. It is extraordinarily a celebration of move held in spring and is otherwise called ‘Move of cheerful hearts’. This festival is celebrated by the Garo and Jaintia clans of Meghalaya.
Aoling Festival, Nagaland (1 – 10 April)
Aoling Festival is celebrated in the Mon district of Nagaland in North East India in the month of April, Aoling is the festival of the ferocious Konyak Tribes of Nagaland. They now spend most of their time doing agriculture activities, drinking alcohol, smoking and hunting, which is done occasionally. They celebrate the festival to mark the beginning of spring festival every year.
Chithirai Festival, Tamil Nadu (8 – 22 Festival)
Chithirai Festival most popular festival of south Indian celebrated in Tamil Nadu. This festival is celebrated for two week. The festival pay tribute to the wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Meenakshi. Starting with the flag hoisting ceremony, there are plenty of processions carried out during the festival. Post the wedding of the divine couple, the celebration moves to Kallazhagar Temple in Alagar Hills close to Madurai.
